Christmas Tag - For You

Today I have a girly, pastel Christmas tag. This beautiful collage stamp is from Heartfelt Creations.  I embossed in white, sponged with Distress Inks, and then used Delicata Gold to give it some beautiful shimmer.  I used the Romantic Rectangle die for the image and then matted in blue and cream.  It's then finished off with some ribbon, lace and pearls.

Thanks so much for visiting and have a blessed day!

Heartfelt Creations DT Alumni Hop

(Note: I have no idea what is going on with Blogger; he seems to have taken it into his head to change the color and spacing all willie, nillie and won't let me change it?!)

It's time for the Heartfelt Creations Design Team Alumni monthly blog hop...and this month I have the privilege of being a part of the hop.  We've chosen the last Tuesday of each month to share a project featuring Heartfelt Creations' stamps when we can, just for fun.  If you'd like a chance at winning a prize, be sure to leave a comment on every blog along the hop by Friday - there is a $25 gift certificate up for grabs for one random commenter!  How cool is that?!  I am at the top of the hop list today, so if you're ready to hop, you are in the right place!

For today I am sharing a rather rustic Christmas card, which is a different style for me.  I stamped the Petite Poinsettia PreCut Set onto vintage music paper with Cherry Red ink and then embossed with clear EP.  I used Spellbinders Layered Poinsettia die and then inked everything  with Walnut Stain.  I added Star Dust Stickles to the flower and leaves and then added some red rhinestones.

The hop will close Friday November 30th at midnight EST, so hop along and leave comments with each of the ladies between now and then for your chance to win a $25 gift certificate to shop at Heartfelt Creations.  The winner will be announced on Saturday December 1st.

So now you're ready to hop on to your next stop which is Kristina Andersen http://reflectionsofahappycrafter.blogspot.ca/

Here is a list of all the blogs in today's hop.

You Are Loved

Last month I was asked to create an album for our pastor for pastor appreciation. The congregation was asked to create a thank you card with a note of encouragement, but no specifics were given, so I received quite a variety of sizes and styles. Quite a challenge, LOL! I decided to do a flip album. I've had this paper pack (DCWV 'the Performance stack') for a long time but couldn't find the right project until now. Our pastor and his son are part of our worship team and music is a big part of their lives so this was perfect.

The chipboard shapes and pearls were part of my birthday present from my son and DIL, thanks! This is one of my fav laces!
the inside of the cover. There are some beautiful vellum papers included with this paper pack and I thought about placing it over top of this page but then decided against it. I was afraid the giver might think I was trying to cover up her work and this was one time when the thought was more important than the presentation.

it flips open to reveal a pocket which is held closed with a magnet...

and holds a little booklet with cards from the children.
the other side has three pockets for the messages from the assistant pastors and elder.
When it's completely flipped open there is a flip page to hold smaller cards and on the right are some purchased cards and some that were e-mailed which I printed out and made into cards. This was a challenge! After praying about it, I thought about sewing them together with a coptic stitch. I had never tried it before so I turned to my instruction manual, (youtube!). It worked great and I used an elastic cord to hold them in place.

 completely flipped open

I added an envelope on the back and included a little tag from me.

This book turned out a little heavier than I realized it would, but it feels very sturdy and I really loved the design. They  enjoyed reading all the thoughts from everyone and I was glad I had the opportunity to create it for them.
challenges:
Word Art Wednesday:  give thanks/open
Stampin' Sisters in Christ: Create a card of project depicting thankfulness or prayer. It can be a Thanksgiving card/project, a thank-you note, or an "I'm praying for you" type card/project

And now I'm off to create a mini for a very special little lady who requested a book of her own. I'm going to have to readjust my thinking to a 10 year old. Here's hoping she'll like it!

Thanks so much for visiting and have a blessed day!

Heartfelt Creations_You're So Special

Today is a rather sad day since it is my last post for Heartfelt Creations.  We are hoping to go to Texas again for the winter and I won't be taking my craft supplies.  I was thinking of how special all the awesome ladies on the design team have become to me, and especially Emma Lou and Linda!  I love making mini albums and so I made this album in their honor.  I wanted to try something new (for me) and use a lace binding. Love how it turned out! The beaded crochet lace is something I learned from this tutorial. I've included the supply list and directions for the cover below. This post will be extremely long so grab a cup of coffee, put up your feet and join me in a fond farewell. XOXO

All of my pockets were created with sections cut from old envelopes and then I added my crocheted lace over it.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is one of my favorite pages. It's a flip page. I was thinking of a song we used to sing a long time ago called 'His Banner Over Me Is Love'. This lace reminded me of a banner. I adhered it to acetate with Glossy Accents and then used Velcro for the closure. For the second flip I used a doily to create the pocket and then stamped with the Agape Love stamp.

The next page I kept very simple and let the gorgeous design paper do all the work. I fussy cut around the flower to create a pocket for the tag that is included with the paper and then added my lace as a border.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This next page was a fun page to create. For the outside of the flap I again let the paper do the work and then used the cups to illustrate the verse. I also added some heart rhinestones, just for fun!

 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Are you still with me? Bless your heart! This is the last page! I wanted to see if I could incorporate a pop up card in a mini and I really think it worked quite well. When I think of heaven, I think one of the best things will be the absence of all negative emotions. That's why I used the word 'love' inside the doors. I created tabs for the fence instead of using the regular method of creating pop ups because of all the paper layers. You'll probably notice I paraphrased the verse.

With Love

Please know that all of you who are in Sandy's Storm Path are in my thoughts and prayers!  In Ohio we have had high winds and lots of rain, but it's nothing compared to what some of our dear friends are experiencing in other areas.  Stay safe!

Today I've created a card with the Heartfelt Creations Delicate Twining Asters PreCut Set.  It's been colored with Prismacolor pencils and I added some Dazzling Diamonds in the center.  There's some glittery pink ribbon and a heart rhinestone for a little bling. The sentiment is from the HC Inspire Me Sentiments PreCut Set.

Today is a very special day!  We are delighted to present the Vintage Floret Collection. This is a beautiful collection of ancient luxury. This month’s paper release is similar to the wallpaper of a quaint Parisian cafe. The textured flower stamps add a quiet delicacy to every project. There are 5 new PreCut Stamp Sets, one 12x12 Paper Collection, and one beautiful new exclusive Spellbinders die designed for Heartfelt Creations.

Win the entire Release: Leave a comment on the HC blog by October 16th and you will be eligible to win the entire release valued at $134.93 .

Melody of Love

SNSDC73_Square Challenge
Today is my last project for my guest spot with SNSDC.  It's been such fun working with these wonderful images!  When I chose my images, this was my first pick.  Music has always been a big part of my life and this image is awesome!
I used a 5 1/2" square canvas which I painted with Metallic Champagne and pink acrylic paint.  I then printed the image and sentiment on tissue paper and adhered it to the canvas with gel medium.  It is colored with Creative Inspiration Paint which has a wonderful shimmer.  The little paper flower at the top is the 4 Petal Flower  from the new SNS September release.  I used one of my crocheted flowers, a stick pin, a feather, and some leaves and butterflies from Heartfelt Creations.  There's lots of lace, pearls, and bling.  And it's pink, LOL!  (Would you believe it's my fav color?) I used the blue background to keep it from looking too, too pink.  The sentiment is bordered with a gold leafing pen.

Be sure to join us for this fun challenge and the chance to win some wonderful images!
Thanks so much, ladies, for allowing me to be a part of SNS for September!
Thanks to all my lovely friends for visiting and have a blessed day!

Pop Up Gift Card

This week at Sweet n' Sassy the challenge is to create a pop up card.  There are lots of tutorials and variations, but since I wanted to add a gift card, I chose to use a very basic design.

One of the things I love about digital stamps is the ability to resize them.  I created my own DP using my Cocoa's Latte Digital Stamp in different sizes.  The main image has been colored with Prismacolor pencils.  By layering it on cs, it created a pocket for the gift card.  The sentiment is die cut, layered on cs, and then I added some pearls.

For the front of the card, I cut the image in a hexagon shape.  I used an embossing pen to create the corrugated look on the sleeve and added some liquid pearls.  The sentiment is from Heartfelt Creations, cut apart.  I added some Glossy Accents on the lid and then added the panel with pop dots.

Cocoa's Train_Happy Birthday

Several weeks ago, I received an e-mail from Makiko from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps asking me if I would be one of their September guest designers.  Of course!  I was honored that they would ask me, I absolutely love Korin's images, they just make me smile!

So this week's challenge is Take me Away! -- Use any image(s)/element(s) that take you somewhere -ex. trains, airplanes, ballons, cars, trucks, bicyles and so on..  I chose to use Cocoa's Train.   He's really going places with this spinner card!

I do hope your eyes don't get crossed with this card, LOL!  It turned out a bit busier than I intended!  This is the first spinner card I made and will totally be making some more, they are so much fun!  The paper is some I've had in my stash for a long time.  All the tutorials I saw said to use a 1/2" circle punch; I had no idea they would be so hard to find!  I finally found a 5/8" punch and then used 2 nickles instead of pennies. I designed the hearts and cloud and printed from the computer.

                                                           Works beautifully!

I hope you have a chance to play along with us.  You don't have to use Sweet 'n Sassy digis, but we'd love it if you did!  Be sure to use a digital image and follow the "Take me Away" theme.
